Park Ridge Police Blotter: Teens charged with drug offenses

The following incidents were listed in the weekly bulletin prepared by the Park Ridge Police Department. Readers are reminded that an arrest does not constitute a finding of guilt. Only a court of law can make that determination.

DRUG POSSESSION

Alexander Bonk, 19, of the 900 block of South Aldine Avenue, Park Ridge was charged with possession of marijuana on Nov. 25 following a traffic stop on the 800 block of South Washington Avenue. Police said Bonk was in possession of 3 grams of suspected marijuana. Charged with possession of drug paraphernalia were the driver of the vehicle, identified as Michael Rooney, 19, of the 800 block of South Western Avenue, Park Ridge, and another passenger, identified as Kurtis Dobnja, 20, of the 700 block of South Prospect Avenue, Park Ridge. All three men were released on their own recognizance and assigned a Jan. 13 court date.

A 16-year-old Park Ridge boy was charged with possession of marijuana and possession of tobacco by a minor on Nov. 29, following a traffic stop on the 200 block of North Wisner Street. Police said the teen was found to have .5 grams of suspected marijuana. Two other occupants of the vehicle, identified as a 17-year-old boy and a 17-year-old girl, both of Park Ridge, were each cited for possession of tobacco by a minor. All three were released on their own recognizance and assigned a Jan. 13 adjudication hearing date.

TRESPASSING

Matthew LaLiberty, 42, of the 1400 block of South Canal Street, Chicago, was charged with trespassing on Nov. 25 after he was reportedly found sleeping inside a common area of Advocate Lutheran General Hospital, 1775 W. Dempster St. According to police, LaLiberty had been issued a no trespassing order by the hospital in 2009. He was released on his own recognizance and assigned a Dec. 23 court date.

Joseph Sykes, 59, of the 2000 block of North Pine Street, Des Plaines, was charged with trespassing on Nov. 26 after he was seen on the property of Advocate Lutheran General Hospital, 1775 W. Dempster St. Police said he had been ordered in 2012 not to return to the hospital. He was released on his own recognizance and assigned a Dec. 9 court date.

DUI

Matthew Miskelly, 43, of the 2900 block of North Clybourn Avenue, Chicago, was charged with driving under the influence and speeding on Nov. 22. He was taken into custody at Devon Avenue and Dee Road at 9:07 p.m. Bond was set at $1,500. He has a Dec. 16 court date.

WARRANT

Jordyn Pietroske, 21, of the 1000 block of North Western Avenue, Park Ridge, was taken into custody Nov. 26 on a McHenry County Sheriff’s Office warrant for endangering the life of a child. Bond was set at $1,500.
